Post-Critique Reflection: Project 2

For the Emotive Color project, Critique was very challenging. It was really interesting to describe someone else’s photos as if they were your own. I was happy that the class agreed on the peacefulness of my photos. It was great to hear that they had picked up on the importance of curvature, light, and color and how all of these things tied my images together in a very specific way. I liked the structure because I felt like I got some great constructive ideas about my photo techniques, choice of subject matter, as well as overall effectiveness.

Next time, I would possibly alter the color of the sky in one of the shots so that each landscape shot is distinctive and does not detract from the stillness of another. By doing this, the group of photos as a foursome may seem more cohesive. I also may think about lightening the sky and corn fields in a few of the shots, as someone may interpret the darkness to be foreboding ad not calming. Overall, I am satisfied with the shots that I presented, but found it very helpful to hear my classmates rumination about my pictures.
