My Project Ideas (#3) - In Limbo
For this project, I plan to be a people watcher. I plan to put myself in a bustling public place. This will give me the opportunity to observe and shoot photos of interesting and always changing subject matter. I have been influenced by Melanie Einzig and her “people watching” street photographic style. I am excited about being in a public place and shooting whatever happens around me. I will be shooting life as it is, no set-ups, no pre-planned shots, just civilization and human movement in its purest state.
This approach will require me to be as inconspicuous as possible. I do not want my lens to alter the action, emotion, expression, or choices of my subject matter/s. This is not an easy task, but I will try my very hardest to achieve inconspicuousness. I plan to shoot outside in an urban area. The days that I have allotted to shoot happen to be overcast and rainy days. Depending on the lighting, I may or may not decide to convert my photos to black and white once I’ve taken them. I am very anxious to get out and start snapping away! Wish me luck!
